Settings > Speech Guide:

Initialize speech guide on app start:
Activates the Windows SAPI speech engine when the program starts.
Must be enabled for speech output to work.

Activate speech guide on app start:
If checked, speech output is active immediately after startup.
Can be toggled at any time with Ctrl+M or by clicking the green/red button
in the On-Air status display (far right).

Speech Output:
Dropdown field to select the audio output channel for speech.
Allows routing speech to a different output than music playback.

Speech Voice:
Dropdown field to select the SAPI voice.
Only voices installed on the system are listed.

Speech speed:
Slider for speech speed (-10 to +10). Default: 0.

Speech Volume:
Slider for speech volume (1 to 100%). Default: 100%.

Announce punctuation:
This drop-down box sets whether and how special and punctuation characters are announced by name when reading text aloud. This helps you recognise the exact punctuation in a text. There are three levels:
- Off: characters are not announced individually.
- Structural characters only: only comma, semicolon, colon, vertical bar and tab are spoken by name.
- All characters: all special and punctuation characters are spoken by name, for example left parenthesis, slash or at sign.
The setting applies when reading aloud in the internal text editor and when announcing the settings. In the text editor a short pause is additionally inserted after every semicolon so that data fields in CSV or cue files are easier to tell apart.

Language:
This drop-down box sets the language of the user interface and the speech output. The selection takes effect after saving the settings; all labels, hints and announcements switch to the chosen language.

Check mouse for movement:
When this check box is ticked, the hint of the element under the mouse pointer is only read aloud when the mouse has actually been moved. This way a mouse pointer left in place no longer repeats the announcement; menu announcements are unaffected. When it is unticked, no speech output is given for the element under the mouse pointer.
